A Place to Stay Concert
The event, inspired by their newly released “The Foster EP”, will feature the music of Radney Foster & Kyle Hutton. They will be joined by very special guests, Texas’ First Lady Cecilia Abbott, Commissioner of DFPS Hank Whitman, Director of Fostering Hope Austin – Julie Kouri and more. The evening event will inspire and educate attendees on the current opportunities to become involved in enriching the lives of children in the Texas Foster Care System. Child Placement Agencies, State agency representatives, and Foster/Adoption non-profits will be on-site to provide “next-steps” for those who would like to explore what it means to get involved. Brought to you by KOKE FM, LifeAustin Church and the Real Life Real Music Foundation, The Place to Stay Concert is an all-ages, family friendly, free to the public event.

Cecilia Abbott has made promoting volunteerism and service to others her primary focus as First Lady of Texas. Through her Network of Nurture initiative, Mrs. Abbott is raising awareness about the ways Texans can support the children and families in the state’s child welfare system.

Henry “Hank” Whitman serves as the Commissioner for DFPS. He spent 22 years with the Texas Department of Public Safety. A decade of that time was spent serving as a Texas Ranger. In 2011, he was named Chief of the Texas Rangers.

Texas native and legendary singer/songwriter, Radney Foster, has been a hero and mentor to countless musicians. Foster not only knows what it means to foster/mentor in the musical sense, he has watched the transforming power of adoption within his own family having two adopted siblings.
Kyle HuttonThe Real Life Real Music Foundation / Founder
Texas-based singer/songwriter and founder of Real Life Real Music, was adopted at 6 weeks old after a brief stint in foster care through Depelchin Children’s Center in Houston. Kyle and his wife Tara have navigated the Texas Foster Care system over the last year and have fostered 5 children
